Gecko Galz's Challenges.

If you are interested in joining a number of challenges on one site  , I would like to suggest going to the Gecko Galz Facebook site.  They have a number of them going on at one time.  I managed to enter the card below at the last minute.

Finally got this card finished...deadline time for Geckp Galz's "Be An Angel" challenge.. This is my Steampunk Angel. Like the sentiment says "Encourage Imagination" you will have to do so to understand what I made..   I created my background as I wanted something a little different. from the designer papers I had in my stash.  I love how this turned out.  The Gecko Galz face is one that is coming out this week

"A New Baby" is the Theme

We are on the second week of the baby theme and I haven't gotten many entries yet.  It is such an easy theme so dig out your stash and enter.  The shortcut to the challenge announcement is on my sidebar.   In the meantime here are some creations from the Design Team.
Michele
This week I enjoyed using a couple of the pieces from the "Baby Girl Pack" generously provided by our wonderful challenge sponsor Stitchy Bear.  I arranged the baby dress and bonnet on digital background paper from Twisted Papers then printed and cut them out.  I placed the dress and bonnet on some beautiful designer paper from the iTkuPiLLi Primavera series.  I added a baby bootie border and some letters from a baby sticker set I had.  Now I've got two baby cards made and ready to send for the next baby that comes along.  I hope you join the challenge and get some baby cards made as well!
Karla
For the second week of “It’s a baby”, I’ve made a card for a girl. I've used a digital image from the Stitchy Bear's 'baby girl pack' kindly supplied by our sponsor after coloring it digitally. I adorned my image with some flowers, some crystals, and some stickers. I also used an old baby image I found when I was surfing Pinterest It is from 1930’s. Keep playing along with us! We love to see your creations. Have a magical week, my friends!
Leona
I have used 4 separate digistamps from Stitchy Bear for this CAS card.  I use Promarkers in Pastel Blue, Cornflower and China Blue.  I have mounted the topper onto Bazziill.
 Hazel
I've used digital images from the Stitchy Bear's 'baby boy pack' kindly supplied by the sponsor. I coloured with spectrum noir pens, mounting on to a background I found on the internet.

Let's Hear It For the Boys!

"Let's Hear It For the Boys!" is the theme at Lunagirl this week.  Drop over and see what the Design Team has created for the theme and I am sure you will want to enter the challenge.
This is the tag I made for the challenge.  I haven't made many tags lately.  I used a page out of an old paperback book as the base of my tag.  The shinny cooper-looking piece of cardstock down the  left side is actually from an old greeting card.  The Lunagirl image was slipped under a wrapping of twine which I also tied into a bow.  The oval cooper piece at the top is a medallion that had been smashed in a coin-smashing machine.  The tag as a whole has that vintage look.

Don't forget to enter the challenge---boys.!

Challege #93 - "A New Baby"

This is one type of card I very seldom make.  It is a baby card.  This is really an easy theme to do.  Below are some inspirations for you by the Design Team.
Vicki
I have pink cardstock as my base card,  On it I place a cute baby-theme piece of designer paper.  Next I used a digital from Panda Bear, designer on  Stitichey Bear Outlet.  This I colored with Copic markers.  To finish the card I placed a small pink bow and a little pink rose embellishment.  In small letters is the sentiment "Blessed Child".
Hazel
I've used digital images from the Stitchy Bear's 'baby girl pack' kindly supplied by the sponsor. I coloured with spectrum noir pens and added a suede die cut teddy and a rattle. I finished off the card with the faux stitching on the surrounds and mounted on to a pale pink card blank
Michele
This is a digitally created 4x4 card to welcome a new baby boy.  I used baby digital images from Stitchy Bear's "Baby Boy Pack," a digital sentiment from TLC Creations and lovely pastel digital background paper from the Primavera Series by iTKupiLLi.  I made a simple slim grey border using Photoshop as well.  I rarely make baby cards so this challenge is a good opportunity to get some made.  Now I will be really for the next baby that comes along!
Karla
For the first week of “It’s a baby”, I created a simple card. I colored my lovely image digitally. It was kindly supplied by our sponsor Stitchy Bear. It is a rattle and adorned it with some animals, a red ribbon, some pearls and sentiment. Keep playing along with us and have magical week!

Stampaway 2014

In the next couple of weeks I will be posting some cards which were made directly from attending Stampaway 2014.  Last week I attended the conference and had so much fun taking a couple of classes and meeting in person a number of my "internet friends".

The first booth I want to mention is the Impression Obsession booth.  It was there that Melinda (sorry I didn't get your last name) was showcasing the IO Cover-All stamps.
She did such a wonderful job that I came away with an armful of Cover-All stamps.

Impression Obsession is having a challenge this week of "Clean and Simple" so I decided to try my hand at entering.  I wanted the background to be the spotlight of the card so I placed a simple banner on my card with an epoxy sticker that says "inspire" along with a couple of stick-on flowers.  I thought this was appropriate since Melinda so inspired me last week.  I placed everything on a light blue card base to bring out the blue in the patterned background.  A darker blue was used in the banner.
Below is a close-up of my patterned background.  I used the Criss Cross first.  Then I put on top of in blue the Dottie Argyle.  Lastly, I used the Vines pattern in a very dark red.  What a lovely background this combination made.

Don't forget to enter the IO challenge as it ends soon!

Lunagirl's Challenge

I have been out of town since Lunagirl began her challenge "Fans and Flowers".  Her challenge ends this coming weekend so you have almost a whole week to make an entry.  Since I wasn't blessed to a fast internet, I am posting my two samples below.
My card has a vintage feel.  I superimposed a bouquet of flowers over the fan which was placed on a backing of two different types of cardstock.   The sentiment is a piece of chipboard found in my stash.
My tag has a background which I learned to do at the Stampaway 2014 in Cincinnati last week using pastels.  The images are from Lunagirl and I placed some flowers in the hand of the main image.  The two flourishes are stickers.  The main image is slightly off the tag, and is placed on dimensionals.

Vicki
I love working with black and white.  My musical card's image is from Stitchy Bear Outlet.  Even though my theme wording is "Jazz" your entry may be anything musical.

Karla
For the second week of All that jazz, I created a journal page and made a card with it for a good friend . I used my acrylics, a paste for texture, rubber stamps and some stencils. The guitar silhouette was kindly provided by our sponsor Stitchy Bear stamps and the quote is from the internet. I also adorned it with a couple of flowers, a black ribbon and some others stickers. Keep playing along with us and have a super magical week!

Michele
I am having fun with this challenge. I made another largely digital creation for this week. The background is digital paper from McMahon Five to which I digitally added the horn player and drum set from Stitchy Bear's All That Jazz digital stamp set. I also included the words "All That Jazz" also from Stitchy Bear. I added some border that made me think of stage lights and some musical notes to complete this card. I hope you will join the challenge!
Leona
For my second All That Jazz post I have made a CAS card using the grand piano and added my own sentiment. Perfect for the piano teacher!

Hazel

I've used some sheet music that I found on the internet and created my card digitally in Microsoft Picture It, adding digital images taken from Jazz Band, kindly supplied by Stitchy Bear's digi outlet, together with a quote by Duke Ellington - all created digitally.
We look forward to seeing your musical entries.

Challenge #92, All That Jazz!

We are excited to start a new two week challenge featuring "All That Jazz" and all things musical!  As usual the design team has all kinds of creative inspiration to get you started.
Vicki
My card made me remember all the dances I went to while I was in high schoo.  The main image is from my sponsor, Stitchy Bear and the pennants are from Gecko Galz.  At my dances we usually had pennants hanging around the walls.

I've used some sheet music that I found on the internet and created my card digitally in Microsoft Picture It, adding digital images taken from Jazz Band, kindly supplied by Stitchy Bear's digi outlet.

Michele
Do you love music? I do.  So I love this two week theme.  For my card I worked with musical instrument digital images generously provided by our challenge sponsor Sticthy Bear stamps and combined them with images in my stash from FrenchKissed postcards (FKP).  The background paper is a digital background by FKP. I digitally added the harp and grand piano, from the "all that jazz" collection.  I then added my cut out vintage lady, also by FKP  My lovely chanteuse is surrounded by butterflies from my stash.

Karla
For the first week of “All that jazz”, I’ve created a card using a silhouette kindly provided by our sponsor Stitchy Bear Stamps. It is a sax: an instrument that I really love.I adorned it some crystals, some flowers, bows and an immortal quote which was found on the net. The papers are from Brazilian designers. The man playing sax is from my stash. I thought I’d never use that sticker but the opportunity presented itself. Have a magical week and keep playing along with us!

Leona
I have used this fabulous image of a drum kit for my card today and as it is silhouette, I have kept the colour palette simple.  The digi is available from Stitchy bear outlet.

Once again we are grateful to our challenge sponsor:
