Growth of Flowers

This is a last minute card I did for Gingersnap Challenge "Growth". and my entry on Ink on My Fingers for her blog candy.  I did a mosaic using a stamp from Stampers Stampede.  I like the way it turned out and this was an easy way to do multiple cards.

Brown Bagging

i still have a couple of flowers to do before I finish my flower bouquet.  In the meantime here is a card using the Brown Bagging technique. This is a fun technique.

This particular card was made for The Sunday Stamper "Free Theme" challenge.

Stamps are from the Artistic Outpost Steampunk stamp sheet.  I love these stamps as they are so versatile and are great if you like to make distressed cards.

A "Geek" Flower

While working on my entries for the Gingersnap Creations Flower Art Swap, I decided to make one of mine a "Geek" flower.  I don't have many stamps with any particular theme with the exception of my Artistic Outpost stamps.  This flower is also my entry Ink on My Fingers Blog Candy Challenge.

I began by distress-ing the edges of the flower with a mustard colored ink from Stampin' Up.  After that, I gave the background a little intetest by dabbing yellow, orange, and light red ink through sequin waste.  The stamped images were stamped with Stampin' Up's pumpkin pie ink.

Since this was a geek flower I just had to put on a piece of a transistor, the trademark of a geek. This was out of one of those cell phones we had been hording for the past 15 years.  At least I will be getting rid of that much!

The next flower I add to the bouquet will be  a more conventional one.

Another Flower Added to the Bouquet

This time the flower is a Flower Art Card.  All stamps are in the SteamPunk set by Artistic Outpost  The scan does not show the light green/grey decorator cardstock.  It was distressed with two colors of Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.  The gear mask was also Tim Holtz.  Attached are a piece of old book page and a old washer along with the words "Sentimental Journey".

A Bouquet of Flowers

Let's Make a Tag--
For my bouquet of flowers I am starting with a tag.  This is the first time I have tried making this type of flower.  I started with  a piece of double-sided cardstock, one of the Nestabilities,  a Cuttlebug embossing folder, distressing ink and topped it all with a pearl button.  The buckle is one that came off a pair of sandals that I threw away today.  The paper lace is some that I have had for years and kept thinking that I ought to throw away.  This is my tag entry for the Tag Tuesday sketch and my handmade flower entry for Cupcake Craft.

Going Funky

From time to time I make ATC's (Artist Trading Cards)  I haven't make any lately so I took a piece of Gesso Resist that I had made and intended to make one.  However, my hubby had cut a 2 x 4 recerntly and had a couple of pieces left.  I decided to cover it with my Gesso Resist paper for a dimensional ATC.  Then it began.  I just kept adding "stuff"  All the stamps are Artistic Outpost with the exception of the body which is Paula Best.
A side view shows the use of a eye screw as the pedal on the unicycle.                  An old coathanger was the very thing for a crank.  This was a fun project.  In fact I made my hubby cut me another piece of wood.  The only thing he has asked is that I don't mail it.  He doesn't want to boost the income of the post office.
This was created  also for Gingersnap Creations'  "Frosting" Challenge and for Sir Stampalot's "Fantasy" Challenge.

Special Card of the Week

This beautiful card is one I received this week from Jackie Watson of Indianapolis.  The technique she used was
Dabbed Shimmers from the Jan/Feb TJ Newsletter.  Afterwards, she used  a Stampin' Up texture plate on it.  The pic does not give the lovely backgriound justice.
